Electrician trade or branch under CTS- Craftsman Training Scheme is one of the most popular courses delivered nationwide through a network of ITIs. ITI electrician course is a short term professional technical course, which enables students to work on different types of electrical wiring and equipment. This course provides students with fundamental knowledge of the necessary electrical fields. Under this course, students are given a good knowledge of Electrical equipment, Wiring, safety in the electrical field, and other technical details. the detailed information and explanation are being discussed below.
As you know, ITI means Industrial Training Institute, so, under this, you are made skilled in many fields.
Out of this, ITI Electrician is a branch Under this; you are given Practical and Theoretical Knowledge of Electrical Field.
Often people understand that the knowledge given to you in the electrician course, which is inside ITI, makes you an electrician to become a technician for wiring in different fields or doing installation related work.
Which is not true-
Yes, indeed, many children who take ITI electrician course work in the role of an electrician, but they can work in other vital parts also.
Under the ITI Electrician, you are given all the basic knowledge of electrical, which enable you to work in the electrical field in different roles such as- electrician, Electrical machine operator, wireman, and others.
Or in other words, we can say that- During this two-year course in electrician trade, students are given a good knowledge of professional skills, professional education, engineering drawing, employability skills.
Along with this, there are a lot of exceptional workshops and extra-curricular activities for the confidence build-up of students.
What students learn during the ITI electrician course-
The course starts with basic safety practices. Further, you will be taught the following topics-
Basic Electricity
Effect of electric current
Wiring systems
Magnetism
Electrical machines
transmission and distribution.
and others, all the subjects will have practical and theory parts. detailed syllabus of this course is given below-
Who should join the ITI electrician course-
Students whose interest is in the electrical field or interested in working on electrical equipment can join this course.
Those who want a high professional degree by paying low fees in a short time, so that they can get an excellent job in both the private sector and government sector, then they should also do this course.
For admission in ITI electrician course, students are required to pass the tenth standard from any recognized board. Most ITI institutes give you entry on the 10th pass percentage itself.
There are some top ITI colleges which can ask you for a good percentage on the 10th.
Whether you have done tenth from any state board or CBSE board does not make any difference.
If you want to do the ITI electrician course after 12th, then you have to have a science subject in twelfth.
Most of the private Institute gives you admission to the ITI Electrician course based on the 10th mark.
The Duration of the ITI electrician course is 2 years, divided into 4 semesters.
Duration of Apprentice training after ITI electrician course-
Students who do well during the ITI electrician course and if they get a chance to apprentice, then its duration is 3 years. Which includes 2 years of basic training.
After the completion of the ITI electrician course, students will have options to go for Job or they can go for Higher education. detailed analysis of Jobs and Higher education after this course, given below-
A lot of jobs for ITI electrician students are available in government and non-government fields. In which they can join according to their knowledge and need.
different roles they can get while working in different fields are-
ITI electrician Govt Jobs-

Salary after ITI Electrician-
Students can get a starting salary of 8 thousand per month to 10 thousand per month, after the completion of this course. But soon they will get a good wage once they have an experience of 2 years or more.
Some students are also getting a chance to do apprentices after the ITI course. There they will get a stiffen of 8 to 10 thousand per month.
After this course the chances of getting a job in Government, companies are very high. So if you are getting a job there, then your salary will start above 15 thousand per month.
Students who want to get higher education after completing ITI electrician course, they can do simple graduation in science subject or diploma can also be done in electrical and other branches similar to it.
If you join the diploma after this course, then you get admission in the second year directly, meaning that your one year is saved here.
If a student wants to do simple graduation after doing the ITI electrician course then he has to do inter or twelfth again.
Another option is that if it interferes with the NIOS along with the ITI Electrical course, then after the end of the ITI course, it can also graduate from the NIOS. Special arrangements have been made for the children of ITI in NIOS.
Many people also start their own business after the ITI electrician course. Before starting your own business in the electrical field, it is necessary that you get an experience of 2 to 4 years.
Today a lot of people are on good terms in their business in the electrical field. So if you are going to do this course, then it is important to consider this option or keep it in your mind.
